What could be available

Trading down gives Chicago a chance at acquiring more picks. In the current stage of the rebuild, the Chicago Bulls should be trying to gain more chances at getting quality players. In the Thibs-era when Chicago was competitive, the front office did a fantastic job of hitting on late round picks the majority of the time – sorry, Marquis Teague -.

From 2009 until 2015, Gar Forman and John Paxson drafted Taj Gibson, Bobby Portis, Jimmy Butler, and Tony Snell in the mid-to-late portion of the draft. All of those players have carved out excellent careers as role players in the NBA except for Butler who has become an All-Star player.

As of today, Chicago will only select one time in the draft. Adding another second round pick or late first will give the front office another chance at acquiring talent. In the past three drafts, Dejounte Murray, Pascal Siakam, Malcolm Brogdon, Kyle Kuzma, Derrick White, Monte Morris, Landry Shamet, Mitchell Robinson, and Rodions Kurucs all were taken after pick 20.
