With all hope lost as to the results from this disappointing 2018-19 regular season for the Chicago Bulls, shutting Lauri Markkanen down seems best.
Some of the biggest and brightest stars of the Chicago Bulls are starting to get shut down for the remainder of the regular season. Of those players that got shut down thus far for the remainder of the regular season for the Chicago Bulls, a few really stick out as significant moves that could have a big impact heading into the summer.
Some of the more impactful players for the Chicago Bulls that are already shut down for the remainder of the regular season include power forward Lauri Markkanen, center Wendell Carter Jr., shooting guard Zach LaVine, and point guard Kris Dunn. The coaching staff also made the decision to keep rookie former first round pick Chandler Hutchison shut down for the rest of the regular season too.
However, Markkanen was the latest of that aforementioned group to have his season for the Chicago Bulls ended. At this point, it seems like the only regular starter in the Windy City this season that is still up and running is veteran center Robin Lopez. And, Lopez is in the midst of a contract year anyway.
With Markkanen finishing out the regular season on a loss against the Toronto Raptors where he shot just 2-10 from the field, you’d think things could’ve ended on a better note. But, there were some nice showings from Markkanen in the final two months of his season.
