Who holds the edge?

Now, this entire comparison for the Chicago Bulls assumes that the franchise lands the top spot in the 2019 NBA Draft lottery. If the Bulls don’t get the first overall selection, then it would likely be Morant that winds up in the Windy City. Winning the lottery would also mean that there could be some suitors for a potential trade with the Bulls.

However, comparing Morant and Williamson is at least valid given the Bulls situation at the one and the four at the moment. The need to add a point guard is much greater than it is to either have a power forward or wing. The front office seems like it will put a long-term investment into Markkanen, so things would drastically shift if Zion wound up with this team.

Morant fills an immediate need and could add a new dynamic to the offense that could finally get this team over the hump. As long as he keeps improve his outside shooting and distributing ability, Morant is a great option for the Bulls to move forward with. The only concerning factor there with Morant is the whopping 5.2 turnovers per game he’s averaging.

Meanwhile, Zion won’t help the outside shooting woes the Bulls are dealing with at times this season. Williamson doesn’t have much of any ability to hit shots from beyond the arc, but his raw talent and physical tools are nearly impossible to pass up on. Somehow and someway, the Bulls would have to go with Zion in this situation.
