Chicago Bulls: 5 NBA Draft prospects worth watching amid NCAA Tournament

The ability to excel in the PAC-12 Tournament through and through just wasn’t there for the Arizona State Sun Devils and true freshman standout shooting guard Luguentz Dort. Before the Round of 64, Arizona State is set to take on the St. John’s Red Storm with the right to face the six-seed Buffalo Bulls.

If the Chicago Bulls want to continue digging a bit deeper to find a solid 2019 NBA Draft prospect to scout for the second round, Dort is a good option. He was one of the leading scorers for the Sun Devils this season, and will come into the NCAA Tournament as a nine-seed. Dort averaged more than 16.0 points per game thus far as a true freshman.

However, the Bulls will want to see a few things standout from Dort in the NCAA Tournament. For being such a promising talent in the Arizona State back court, Dort didn’t shoot too well either from inside the arc or from three-point range. He couldn’t even shoot better than 31.5 percent from beyond the arc this season.

More than likely, the Bulls don’t want to add another shooting guard that has issues from beyond the arc. Point guard Kris Dunn already doesn’t have the best three-point shot in the world, and Dort would need to add a new dynamic to the rotation that isn’t present currently. His length, volume scoring ability, and defensive potential all make Dort an intriguing early second round prospect, though.
