The thinning rotations for both the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers will be put to the test on March 12 with Andre Ingram back in the fold.

One of the absolute best stories we saw in the NBA last season was the standout pro debut for Los Angeles Lakers guard Andre Ingram. Once again, we will get to see Andre Ingram compete in the NBA as he received a call-up to face the Chicago Bulls on March 12 from the LA G-League affiliate South Bay Lakers.

There’s a host of players that the Lakers are set to get back in the fold on March 12 against the Bulls a time the United Center, including Andre Ingram and Kyle Kuzma. The Lakers brought Andre Ingram up with a 10-day contract and Kuzma is set to return from injury, per NBA.com.

In his NBA debut last season, Andre Ingram managed to post 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists for the Lakers. His debut resulted in a six-point loss Houston Rockets, and his second and final outing in the NBA resulted in a 15-point victory over the Los Angeles Clippers where he played more than 35 minutes on the floor.

It will be an interesting matchup on March 12 between Andre Ingram and the Bulls guards. He’ll likely either matchup against Wayne Selden or Kris Dunn with the usual Bulls starting shooting guard Zach LaVine out of the mix with a lingering knee injury keeping him “day-to-day”.

The 33-year-old Ingram is likely to fall in line in the deeper portion of the rotation for Lakers head coach Luke Walton. He might get some time next to Lakers superstar forward LeBron James in this meeting in the Windy City, but it likely won’t be too many minutes.

With the G-League South Bay Lakers this season, Ingram averaged 8.6 points per game, 2.7 rebounds. 0.9 assists, and 0.7 steals in slightly over 24 minutes played. He didn’t have his best year in the G-League, but he showed out in his two opportunities as a 32-year-old in the NBA last season.

Any way you look at it, this return of Andre Ingram to the NBA level is going to catch the attention of a ton of fans, players, and coaches around the league. It will be fun to watch him suit up with LeBron and the Lakers through the stretch of this 10-day contract starting in the Windy City. He could also bolster this rotation if he shows out like he did against the Rockets last year.
