For the 2019-2020 season, the Chicago Bulls have nine guaranteed contracts and one non-guaranteed which makes for an interesting off-season.

With a cool $28 million to spend this summer and a lot of phenomenal talent hitting the market, the team has a decision to make. Do the Chicago Bulls unload cap space on a high-profile free agent, or to use that space on role players?

The fact of the matter is that this is a star-powered league. Without at least one (or more realistically two) all-star caliber players, it is impossible to contend in today’s NBA. In my humbled opinion, I believe this team is going to look to make a playoff push in 2019-2020, somewhat bringing an end to this rebuild.

As much as we love to hate on them, and rightfully so, Jon Paxson & Gar Foreman have actually done a phenomenal job expediting this rebuilding process. The Butler deal was a massive success, they have drafted well of late, & they have done a decent job flipping expiring deals. With this core group of players that have been assembled over the past two seasons, the Bulls may not have to look to free agency for all-star caliber guys, as it appears they have a few.

Here’s a deeper look into what some of the top players for the Chicago Bulls bring to the table and how it could impact this team in free agency come summer.
