The best crossover from last night was brought to us by Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, which was drawn from the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

When we get to look back at the course of NBA history and the most impactful players of all time for this league, Michael Jordan has to be the most notable. Jordan was a player that changed the game forever and players are still trying to imitate him today from what he looked like in his years with the Chicago Bulls. Especially with some of his great 1990’s Chicago Bulls teams, Jordan had some highlight reel moments that will live on for a long time.

The Utah Jazz standout second-year guard Donovan Mitchell caught on with some of those moves from Jordan back in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Per KSL, a move that Mitchell put on Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Landry Shamet got a taste of that move from Mitchell on Feb. 27 to show off one of the better crossovers you’ll ever see.

The Jazz wound up winning that game against Clippers by the final score of 111-105 behind a massive 32 point effort from Mitchell. He truly had a game that was similar to what Jordan did for the Chicago Bulls during his time in the Windy City.

Nonetheless, Mitchell is having a down season in his second season with the Jazz. He’s scoring at a higher clip this season, but his player efficiency rating and field goal percentage dropped. The fact that he’s still making highlight plays like this shows that he’s doing something right at this moment.

Jordan made it famous to beat his defender off the first step and bull his way to the rim. He could also cross up his defender and hit from mid-range. Hitting the long-ball was never really a staple of Jordan’s game, but there were points where he did better from beyond the arc than others.

The hay day of Jordan showed him averaging more than 32 points per game. Mitchell is likely to not reach that point consistently, but he is still a special talent the Jazz can build around. Both players are fun to watch YouTube highlights for over and over again.

There’s just something special about watching Jordan from his best days back in the NBA Playoffs. Mitchell put some moves on Shamet last night that could be one of the better crossovers we see all season. Shamet definitely couldn’t handle the move since it sent him back many yards within the three-point line where Mitchell crossed him in the first place.
