A poor performance against the Chicago Bulls could spark some trade rumors surrounding the Boston Celtics and guard Terry Rozier.

The loss for the Boston Celtics to the Chicago Bulls brought up some discussions that were bound to happen if this roller coaster ride of a regular season continued for them. The Celtics were hoping to steadily right the ship toward a deep playoff run through the Eastern Conference all the way to the NBA Finals with a strong back half of the regular season. It was also unclear whether point guard Terry Rozier was part of those plans for the Celtics.

There’s much less than half of the 2018-19 regular season left before a team like the Celtics will have to prepare for a potential playoff run. What caused yet another hiccup in that journey was a pretty bad loss on the road at the hands of the Chicago Bulls. In that loss to the Bulls this past weekend, Rozier had one of his worst outings of the season to date.

While watching the likes of rising star shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls Zach LaVine take on Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving have huge nights, Rozier floundered off the bench. He managed just three points on one-of-nine shooting from the field. It was the third straight game in which Rozier posted no more than five points while shooting no better than 25 percent from the field.

This has to be a tired trend for the Celtics, after Rozier seemed like he could enter the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline on the block in the first place. Rozier is a solid piece that could add to some building back courts. It also seems like his time in Boston is running out.

Just because Terry Rozier hits one bad stretch, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the trade rumors should completely heat up for him for the impending off-season. He still offers a lot of value deeper in the rotation for the Celtics.

According to the Boston Herald, more general managers expected players like Terry Rozier to be more readily available entering this year’s deadline. The Celtics do have a good thing going in the Eastern Conference, but have a lot of progress yet to be made to guarantee a run past other contenders like the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.

Terry Rozier isn’t going to get traded or bought out before the end of the regular season. But, there are some reports that indicate that the time for Terry Rozier in Boston could be running out if he keeps this type of inconsistent play while his team is trying to contend in the East.
