With another All-Star Game MVP in the repertoire now for the Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant, where does he go from here?

The 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend consisted of a few trials and tribulations that mounted to a big time talent winning the MVP of the All-Star Game itself. The 2019 NBA All-Star Game was the first one that was precluded by a player draft that determined the two teams. The two players picking had the Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant as the first selection.

With Kevin Durant falling to Team LeBron over Team Giannis, the stage was set for the 2019 NBA All-Star Game MVP to do his thing. Kevin Durant won the MVP honors for this All-Star Game over an also very deserving candidate in the Milwaukee Bucks superstar athletic forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Both Kevin Durant and Giannis put together some magical performances in this All-Star Game that was very fun to follow. Some could argue that Giannis deserved this MVP award over Durant, but the honors went to the winner of the game which makes sense. Kevin Durant had a team-high 31 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, Giannis posted a game-high 38 point on 17-of-23 shooting from the field. Durant also posted seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks, and two turnovers. Giannis registered 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal, and three turnovers. Both stat lines were sparkling for Kevin Durant and Giannis by game’s end.

A few of the other noteworthy performances in this All-Star Game came from Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George (20 points), Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (19 points and eight rebounds), and Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving (13 points, nine rebounds, six assists). There were plenty of players to highlight this magnificent showing in Charlotte, NC, to cap the weekend.

All in all, positive headlines like this for Kevin Durant heading into a massive and impactful summer of free agency are a good thing and will inspire more coverage moving forward. Durant is one of the most polarizing athletes in sports right now partly due to his impending free agency this coming off-season.

A good look for the Chicago Bulls would be to impress Durant after this sparkling All-Star Game performance with more than 30 points from the Warriors superstar. Durant could consider the Windy City as one of his potential destinations this off-season, but that is still a long time away.

We’ll have to wait and see how the Bulls are able to round out this 2018-19 regular season and where the franchise winds up in the 2019 NBA Draft lottery. Although, any way you look at it this performance from Durant makes him an even more sought after commodity for this cycle of free agency. The rumors could only continue to build up from here for him.
