2. Modern basketball

ATTENTION EVERYONE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

The Bulls have finally adapted to the way basketball is being played this century.

Tell your friends, tell your family, tell Twitter. Do whatever you have to do. This is the most modern the Bulls have looked in a long time and it’s actually been really fun to watch. They’re running in transition, spacing the floor and moving the ball around.

It’s about time.

Over the last four games (ever since Otto Porter Jr. got traded to the Bulls), Chicago is eighth in pace, seventh in points per game and 11th in assists per game.

Porter has been a huge reason behind the Bulls’ newfound success. In his four games as a Bull, he’s averaging 22.5 points per game on a ridiculously efficient 62.1 percent shooting from the field and 57.9 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s been absolutely sensational.

Obviously, we’re looking at a small sample size, but the Otto-effect isn’t a coincidence. He spaces the floor, rebounds the ball and shoots the lights out. He’s exactly what the Bulls needed to start winning basketball games in 2019.

Modern basketball is so much fun and I’m so happy the Bulls finally got out of their own way and adapted to today’s style of hoops. How could someone not love that?
