Of the three buyout options listed here for the Chicago Bulls to explore, the only that could actually make sense for them to bring into the mix for the long haul is a former member of the Wisconsin Badgers and Charlotte Hornets.

Fourth-year big man Frank Kaminsky is a very versatile talent that just wasn’t able to find a good fit in Charlotte. Whether that was due to Kaminsky’s inability to adjust to the NBA game, or the Hornets not using him right, is something that will be largely determined at the next stop in the journey of his professional career.

What we do know is that Kaminsky didn’t seem too pleased at being bought out by the Hornets after that front office was unable to make a quality deal for him at the deadline. There is also a family connection for Kaminsky here, as he is the nephew of Bulls associate head coach Karen Stack-Umlauf.

If the Bulls front office actually believes that it can find a place for Kaminsky in the rotation and they can get him for a good deal salary-wise, this is a very attractive option that shouldn’t be overlooked. In a limited role with the Hornets this season, Kaminsky did post a player efficiency rating among the better on the team above 16 and shoot 49 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range.
