The Chicago Bulls are 1/5 of the way through a grueling road trip. Who’s next for Zach LaVine and the young Bulls? The Golden State Warriors.

As a Chicago Bulls fan, it’s always scary to look at the upcoming schedule and see a game at the Oracle Arena. Tonight is no different.

In game two of a crazy-difficult five-game road trip, the Bulls are traveling down to Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors. Do they have a chance of winning? Sure, the Bulls are an NBA team, so there’s always a chance. Do they have a good chance of winning? Absolutely not. According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, the Bulls only have a seven percent chance of winning.

In light of what happened the last time these two teams met, it’s probably best to not revisit the past – but let’s do it anyway.

Remember when Klay Thompson set the NBA record for most 3-pointers made in a game? That was against the lowly Bulls in one of their worst performances of all-time.

Not only did the Bulls allow Klay to hit 14 3-pointers, but they allowed him to hit 14 3-pointers with more than four minutes remaining in the third quarter. That’s absurd. The effort wasn’t there, and Thompson made them pay for it.

Now that we’re all fired up about what happened the last time the Bulls and Warriors met, let’s move on.

Despite having a solid 27-14 record halfway through the season, the Warriors aren’t nearly as scary as they have been in the past. Maybe they’re simply coasting through the regular season, or maybe there’s more to it (e.g., Draymond Green’s horrendous shooting). Either way, they aren’t playing like the Warriors team we saw last year in the NBA Finals.

Unfortunately, a Warriors team that isn’t playing all that well is still miles ahead of wherever the Bulls are right now.

There is a possibility, though, that the Bulls could catch the Warriors sleeping. If the Bulls come out hard, and the Warriors come out expecting to win an easy game at home, Chicago could jump out to a nice lead right away.

Sadly, though, even if the Bulls do jump out ahead, the Warriors have the firepower to make a relatively “Steph-ortless” (too much?) comeback.

Next. Jim Boylen gave up on Jabari Parker too soon. dark

Even if the Bulls get throttled, it’s important that they at least give maximum effort throughout the entire game. There simply can’t be a repeat of what happened last time.
