Chicago Bulls: 3 goals for the new year
By Luke Askew
1. Draft a Dukie
The Bulls can turn 2019 into one of their best years in a while if they can manage to draft one of the stars from Duke.
Most people think Zion Williamson should be the first overall pick (I would agree with those people), but R.J. Barrett is a sensational talent that Bulls fans should be excited about as well. Zion and R.J. are both once-in-a-generation talents and the Bulls need to do whatever they can to get one of them in a Bulls uniform.
There’s no question that Zion and R.J. are the two most famous college basketball players in the world right now, but there is, however, a third Dukie that lots of NBA scouts love. His name is Cam Reddish.
Reddish is incredibly talented on offense, and he’ll be a good pro, but he’s a tier below Zion and R.J. If the Bulls can’t manage to get Zion or R.J., though, Reddish would be a solid option. He’s the third best player in the draft, and he could help the Bulls immensely on offense. The 2019 draft will be considered a success if the Bulls can get one of Duke’s big three. If the Bulls can’t get one of the Duke guys in the draft, then fans will likely be calling for the jobs of Gar Forman and John Paxson.
The 2019 draft is one of the most important drafts in recent history, and the Bulls have to make sure they come away with a Dukie.
