1. New Orleans Pelicans

This is a trade that shows Anthony Davis that the Pelicans are committed to build a contender around him. The original pitch to Davis would have been to wait until next off season for their bad contracts to expire to splurge in free agency.

Instead, with an additional one or two more roster moves, the Pelicans go all in and get rid of those contracts now to become players in this years free agency, where star players like Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker and more are available. Both Jabari and Holiday allow the Pelicans to still contend for the playoffs this season and prepare for free agency as well.

When all healthy, with Holiday sliding in at the 3 and Jabari and Julius Randle bringing their scoring off the bench, the Pelicans could be scary. At the 4, a motivated Jabari Parker could fit. Even though the Pelicans are a fast paced team, with their team not in a rebuilding stage, there is a reason for Jabari to get up and down the court.

However, Justin Holiday is probably the more important piece to the trade as they get a great shooter and defender at the three. What E’Twaun Moore and Solomon Hill collectively did, Holiday could do by himself. All that’s left for the Pelicans to do is to call the Pacers and pick up Aaron Holiday for the family reunion.

As for the Bulls, they welcome back E’Twaun Moore, a former Bull, who can be a solid piece in the rotation and help mentor the young wings the Bulls have. As for Solomon Hill, he most likely would get bench minutes due to the Bulls wanting to develop Chandler Hutchinson more.
