3. Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers have already shown that they’re willing to be aggressive with roster moves this season. They made a blockbuster trade on November 10 to acquire Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton in exchange for Dario Saric, Robert Covington, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick.
Clearly, this wasn’t an easy move to make. Both Saric and Covington were big parts of the 76ers’ rotation. Now, while the 76ers gained their third star in Jimmy Butler, they also lost a considerable amount of depth. If they swapped Covington for Butler, then all they really lost is Saric. Sure, Saric is just one guy, but he was giving them 11.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. He was really important to what they were doing as a team.
You know who could help give the 76ers a nice bench piece for their playoff run? The Chicago Bulls. You know who could help the 76ers bench scoring now that Saric is in a Minnesota Timberwolves uniform? Jabari Parker.
Parker can give the 76ers a similar level of shot-making that Saric was giving them, but he can also create plays for his teammates off the dribble. I know Parker’s defense is a scary thing to take on, but it’s not like Saric is Scottie Pippen.
Not only would Parker be a nice fit on the 76ers, but maybe the 76ers have a former No. 1 overall draft pick that they’d be willing to move. You know, a guy that goes by the name of Markelle Fultz?
