Arcidiacono here to stay

While it’s been a fairly rough season to be a Bulls fan so far, Ryan Arcidiacono is quickly becoming a fan favorite. While he’s likely never going to be an All-Star caliber player, the 24-year-old’s impact on the game often doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.

In 17 total games played and six as a starter, Arcidicaono is averaging 7.3 points, 4.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per contest while shooting an extremely effective 48.9 percent from the field in 5.2 attempts and 46.2 percent from behind the 3-point line in 3.8 attempts.

Four years of college basketball experience under Jay Wright at a winning program like Villanova has definitely shown up on the court this year.

The young guard looks poised and mature at all times despite playing just 24 games during 2017-18 season and is arguably the most efficient player on the team.

His defense, play-making ability and effort have given him an edge over his competition and it’s proven to be effective thus far. Arcidiacono undoubtedly has the best shot out of the current rotation and is up there in defense effectiveness with Shaquille Harrison.

The recent win over the Phoenix Suns epitomizes the sheer impact the young guard has on the floor every night. While he definitely won’t start over Dunn and may not even be a Bull long-term, Arcidiacono deserves to be in the rotation as there is simply no other guard who combines effort, playmaking ability, defense and shooting like he does.
