Chicago Bulls: Hutchison’s future success dependent on developing jumpshot
By Aymin Bakr
Chandler Hutchison has been a bright spot for the Chicago Bulls thus far for the most part. However, as much good as he does, developing a consistent jumpshot will be key to his success in the NBA.
Many have become awe stricken by the recent success of the recently drafted Wendell Carter Jr. While this is definitely deserved, the Chicago Bulls did have two first-round picks and the other one, Chandler Hutchison, hasn’t necessarily gotten as much attention.
No one is or should be expecting rapid development from a late first-rounder right off the bat, and Hutchison has definitely played pretty well so far with all things considered. However, whenever his jumpshot is on display, things aren’t so cheery.
In a league shifting more towards small-ball and perimeter oriented lineups, all positions must be able to have a semi-consistent jumper at the very least.
While he certainly isn’t a lost cause from beyond the arc, he’s got some work to do if he wants to develop into a high-level player in this league. He, as you’ll see however, is definitely capable of developing in this area.
