3. Cameron Payne is ready
The Chicago Bulls’ point guard situation has been volatile over the last couple of years. Now, it’s finally looking like they’ve found some stability.
Despite a rough game against the Nuggets, Kris Dunn looks like the point guard of the present and future for the Bulls. His defense is already elite and his shot-making ability seems to improve every game.
The biggest question going into this season regarding the point guard rotation was whether Cameron Payne could cement himself as the backup point guard, or whether Ryan Arcidiacono would prove that he’s more poised for the role.
While Payne still has his limitations, he’s looked like he’s ready to be the backup ball-handler.
Against Denver, Payne scored 10 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
The biggest change I’ve noticed in Payne’s gameplay during this preseason has been his increased level of confidence. He looks much more comfortable this year than he ever has in a Bulls uniform.
This is a great sign for the Bulls’ point guard rotation.[]
