3. Antonio Blakeney is ready

After spending the 2017-18 season on a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls and their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, Antonio Blakeney is finally on an actual NBA deal and he looks more than ready for his opportunity.

Blakeney played in 24 minutes off the bench for the Bulls in their preseason win against the Pelicans. He finished with 21 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist on 6-of-10 shooting from the field.

Blakeney looked aggressive going to the basket and got to the free throw line with ease. He managed to connecting on all 8 of his free throw attempts.

Blakeney checked off one of the two boxes he has to check off before earning a significant role on this team.

He played incredibly well on offense, scoring from all three levels of the floor in an efficient manner. His defense, however, is still suspect.

This Bulls team has no real defensive identity right now. If Blakeney wants a chance at being a starter someday, then he needs to prove he can lock up opposing wings.

For now, he’s ready for his opportunity as a plug-and-play scorer.
