The Chicago Bulls season is nearing and training camp is less than three weeks away. Zach LaVine is ready to put the Bulls back on top.

Alex Squadron of SLAM Magazine recently talked to Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine.

Zach LaVine never wanted to leave the Chicago Bulls. When Zach signed a four year deal worth $78 million with the Sacramento Kings, he was hoping that the Bulls would match that offer. An hour and half after LaVine signed with the Kings, the Bulls matched the offer.

It seemed like a lot of people in the NBA world though that LaVine wasn’t worth $78 million.

Zach LaVine knows that there’s going to be a lot of pressure on him to show up every single night and produce, and that’s why he has taken this offseason very seriously.

Slam Magazine asked LaVine what is a typical offseason day for him.

"“Wake up around 9:00 am, get some food, head over to the gym with my trainer and work on whatever I’m working on that day,” LaVine said. “I do about an hour and a half workout there, then go get some more food. I either do a stretching session or what they call the R3Bar – you work on that for your core. Then drive up to my dad’s spot, lift or do a field workout. And then shoot again at night.”"

The good news that Zach LaVine told Slam Magazine multiple times that he’s back to being 100 percent. Recovering from ACL surgery can be really tricky, so it’s good to hear that Zach is back to being fully healthy.

"“I got my speed back, my jumping back.” LaVine said. “Once you get off an ACL injury, you’re lifting and eating. So I got up to, like, 210 pounds. I’ve never been that heavy before. I’m not a post-up player. I’m fast, a more athletic guy. I got back down to the weight I need to be at [185 pounds], but still I feel strong. I feel really good, man. I’m excited for the season.”"

Zach LaVine has high expectations for this upcoming Bulls season. He has to become a leader for this young Bulls team. This offseason, LaVine has taken the necessary steps to try to become that big time player in the NBA.

"“Over the last couple years, I’ve been trying to get better and better and I feel like I’m at the stage now where I should be trying to reach accolades like an All-Star and things like that.”"

Slam Magazine asked Zach LaVine if he has a message for Bulls fans.

"“Be ready,” Zach said. “Chicago is a big-time sports town and you deserve winners, and we’re going to try to get back to the glory days of the 1990s when you guys got spoiled.”"

I always said that I thought the Chicago Bulls made the right decision by matching the Kings offer for Zach LaVine. Let’s not forget that he’s only 23 years old, and he will continue to get better.

I truly believe that LaVine can become a superstar in the NBA. This guy has been working his butt off this summer. You can see that he’s serious about his game.

He wants to be great, and he won’t stop until that happens. Zach LaVine just wants to bring a championship to Chicago.
