3. What if the Bulls landed LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in Free Agency?

The 2010 free agency period was a bloodbath. Looking back, the talent-level available in that offseason was unbelievable – LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Joe Johnson, Amar’e Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, David Lee, Paul Pierce, Rudy Gay and Ray Allen, to name a few.

Of course, we all know how everything played out – James and Wade teamed up with Bosh in Miami and the Heat went on to win consecutive Championships in 2012 and 2013. Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago recently reported that Wade had revealed Chicago to be one of the top options for him and James.

So, instead of the consolation prize of Carlos Boozer and his painted-on hair, the Bulls could have ended up with both James and Wade. Not bad, right? Throw them in the mix with a soon-to-be-MVP Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah and I daresay you would be looking at the first post-Jordan Championship for the Bulls…

…what if Wade and James had signed with the Bulls? Would the addition of Wade and James reduce Rose’s workload and thus prolong his career? Would James possibly win a DPOY under Thibodeau? Which veterans would take minimum deals to come and join this Eastern Conference powerhouse? We can definitely dream…
