The wait is finally over. The Chicago Bulls selected Wendell Carter Jr. with the No. 7 overall pick. What should his goals be for his rookie season?

When the Chicago Bulls selected Wendell Carter Jr. with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, expectations seemed to be tempered amongst the Bulls fan base. Most expect Carter Jr. to make an immediate impact on the Bulls but not be a superstar.

That’s fair – the No. 7 overall pick usually doesn’t result in a superstar or a franchise player. Heck, it often doesn’t even result in a consistent NBA player. I think it’s pretty well known that the Bulls struck gold with Lauri Markkanen during the 2017 NBA Draft and that a player of his caliber isn’t usually selected at No. 7 (Steph Curry being the anomaly).

However, just because there’s a frequent lack of success at pick No. 7, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have high hopes for the young, big man from Duke. So what should Bulls fans expect out of Wendell Carter Jr. this season? What should the organization expect from him?

Here are three goals (in no particular order) for Wendell Carter Jr.’s rookie season with the Chicago Bulls.
