As players like Draymond Green and Isaiah Thomas have shown us, second-round picks can make big differences. Here’s who I think the Chicago Bulls should take if available in the second-round.

3. Chandler Hutchison – Boise State/Senior

Chandler Hutchison is a 6′ 7″ versatile wing who draws a lot of Kyle Kuzma comparisons. And considering the rookie campaign Kuzma is having for the Lakers, those comparisons surely aren’t a bad thing.

The Bulls need more shooting, playmaking, and general offensive creativity. If the Bulls miss out on one of the top wings earlier in the draft, Hutchison would be an excellent pick up and would fit perfectly in their system. Getting Zach LaVine back from injury is sure to help but that isn’t enough to turn the Bulls into a contender anytime soon.

Hutchison would give the Bulls the size and versatility that they need on the wing – and I can’t wait to see what he does as a pro.

2. Jalen Hudson – Florida/Junior

Jalen Hudson is a 6′ 6″ guard that can absolutely shoot the lights out. This season for Florida he is averaging 16.5 points per game and shooting the three-ball at an efficient 41 percent. Not only does he shoot the three-ball efficiently but he shoots it frequently – he’s currently averaging 6.1 three-point attempts per game.

In today’s NBA, you can never have too many lengthy shooters – the more the merrier. Hudson would give the Bulls some nice shooting touch off the bench and maybe even earn his way into a starting role (depending on other off-season moves or draft picks).

The point is, this kid lets it fly – and I love that.

1. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk – Kansas/Senior

Svi is a  6′ 8″ guard who came to Kansas from the Ukraine when he was only 17 years old. Being a 20-year old Senior sure has its perks as far as NBA scouting goes. He will have four years of playing under Bill Self and will have just turned 21 before the draft this summer.

“Svi for three” as his friends call him (okay maybe not his friends… but his fans sure do) can REALLY shoot the lights out. He’s shooting 47.3 percent from beyond the arc this year on 7.4 attempts per game. Those are crazy numbers for a college kid.

Svi has great footwork to go along with a quick release that doesn’t leave the defense much time to close out and affect his shot. You’ll notice in the above video how quickly he gets his shot up and isn’t bothered despite the hand in his face. Also the clutch-gene aspect isn’t too shabby either.

One thing many people don’t know about Svi is that he has sneaky athleticism. He’s frequently on the receiving end of a lob pass that he usually throws down with authority. Check out this play from last year’s NCAA Tournament:

Svi has everything I would want as a Bulls fan out of a second-round pick. As you can probably tell by now, I feel as though the Bulls need size, athleticism, and shooting from their wings and that’s what I hope they go for in the second round especially.

Until then, as always, go Bulls.
