The plan for the Chicago Bulls should still be to tank this season

It’s been really fun watching the Chicago Bulls play this season. Bulls are competing in every game, but should the team continue to tank?

As of January 18, 2018 the Chicago Bulls are 17-28. If the season ended today, the team would have the ninth pick in the 2018 NBA draft. This season was supposed to be all about tanking. It was supposed to be all about getting a top three pick in the upcoming draft. Most of the fan base was on board. Is that still the plan?

45 games into the season and Bulls fans are now all over the place. This Bulls team has been fun to watch, and they are just so entertaining. Fans are happy to see Zach LaVine back. Bulls fans have also been impressed by the way Kris Dunn, and Lauri Markkanen have played this season.

A lot of fans want this team to just go for it, and to stop the tank. They want this Bulls squad to try to make the playoffs. I’m sorry but I disagree. I might be a minority on this, but the Bulls front office should try to do everything that they can to have the worst record in the league. The front office has to do whatever it takes to stop this team from winning games.

One thing that I will agree with a lot of fans is that this current roster is too good to tank. Bulls management underestimated this roster. This roster is too good to get a top three pick.

The front office has to start making some trades

Nikola Mirotic should’ve already been traded. I’m not sure why he is still on this roster. Some fans don’t want him traded because he is 26 and is playing with a lot of confidence. My response to that is that he isn’t part of your future, he is going to want to get paid, and lastly he hurts your chances of getting a top three pick in the 2018 draft.

Bulls should also consider trading Robin Lopez, Justin Holiday, and Jerian Grant. After trading Jimmy Butler, the Bulls front office picked a direction, and the direction should still be the same.

Chicago Bulls can still get a top three pick in the 2018 draft

For fans that think there is no shot the Bulls will get a top three pick in the 2018 draft, I’m here to tell you that there is a good chance that it can still happen. As of January 18, 2018 the Bulls are only three and half games out from being the worst team in the league.

Kris Dunn will be out a couple of games after he chipped and dislocated two front teeth when he took a hard landing after dunking the ball. Vincent Goodwill reported that Dunn also suffered a concussion. That’s definitely going to hurt the Bulls chances of winning games.

The biggest reason why I want this Bulls team to tank is because I see the bigger picture. This upcoming draft is going to be a really good one. The Bulls have to try to get a top three pick. If you do that, the team has to draft the best player available. There are at least five players in this draft that I think are going to be big time in the NBA.

This offseason the Bulls are going to have a lot of money to spend. The Bulls number one priority should be to sign Zach LaVine to a contract extension. This Bulls team can be sneaky good next season. The future is really bright for the Chicago Bulls.
