The Chicago Bulls are one of the worst teams in the NBA, but eight games into the season the team has been fun to watch.

You might think I’m crazy, but trust me I’m not. The Chicago Bulls are 2-6. Yes I know this team is bad. Yes I know this team is going to have a horrible record, but so far this team has impressed me. Let’s forget about the record for a second. We all know this team is rebuilding.

Before the season I wrote that I want this team to compete, and fight for each other every night. Seven out of the first eight games, the Bulls have played hard and remained competitive. The only game that both things didn’t happen was against the Thunder where they lost 101-69.

Fred Hoiberg deserves a lot of credit

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg finally has the players that fit his system. Hoiberg finally has the players that will listen to him. The Bulls are playing without their best player or even their most talented player that’s on the roster, but eight games into the season the players haven’t let Fred Hoiberg down.

The team has simply played hard. As a fan, I want my team to go out there every night and show that the Bulls are not an easy team to face, and this team has done that so far. The other night Pelicans Center DeMarcus Cousins was asked by reporters about the Bulls effort. He responded by saying “They’re probably top three hardest playing teams in the league at this point.”

Bulls players are believing what Fred Hoiberg is coaching. So far this season you have to give credit where credit is due, and Hoiberg deserves a lot of credit for the way his coaching this team. Hopefully the effort and fight will continue for this team, despite the record.

Lauri Markkanen is showing why he belongs in the NBA

Rookie Lauri Markkanen is big time. The rookie is currently averaging 16.3 points per game, and nine rebounds. The thing that has impressed me the most about Markkanen is that he is not just a shooter.

The last couple of games the Bulls have posted up Markkanen, and the kid hasn’t disappointed. When he has been down on the block, he has made some good passes to his teammates, but also has a nice post up game. His defense is a little shaky, but he will continue to get better. One thing that I will say about Markkanen is that he has to get stronger, but the rookie has a bright future in the NBA.

Fans have appreciated how the Bulls have played so far

I’m a very passionate Chicago Bulls fan. I want nothing but the best for my team. The Bulls are probably going to get the number one pick in the 2018 draft.

Next: Reasons for optimism with the Bulls' offense

I have enjoyed how the team has played so far, and I think a lot of Bulls fans agree with me. Fans appreciate when there team goes out every night and competes. This young Bulls team has done that so far. What Bulls fans don’t want to see is the what happened against the Thunder. That game the team didn’t compete, and played like they wanted to just go home.

The Chicago Bulls are in my blood, and I will always support this team. If they continue to play how they have been playing, fans will appreciate it. All we want is our team to compete and fight for each every single night.
