Lauri Markkanen is so much more than just a shooter

Markkanen had a rough first half after making his first three-point attempt, but still managed to finish with 14 points on 5-13 and 2-8 from deep.

When his three-point shot wasn’t falling, Markkanen made a point to get to the rim. He drove under control, and finished strong:

He seems to be great at utilizing the pump-fake, something very refreshing to watch in a Bulls player after watching Nikola Mirotic for three seasons. Watch him get to the hoop with a pump-fake, and finish with the euro step:

And of course, he knocked down a triple out of the pick and pop when it mattered most:

Markkanen is the jewel in what is otherwise going to be an extremely rocky season for the Bulls. He’s off to an extremely strong start to his career, and while Thursday night was probably his worst game thus far, he still showed poise, and that he can do so much more on offense other than shoot. His 12 rebounds were great, too, seeing that most scouts weren’t high on his rebounding ability.
