Here’s three takeaways from the Chicago Bulls’ loss during their home debut against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.

The Chicago Bulls lost against the San Antonio Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 2-0 on the year after a home win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. San Antonio won 61 games last season and lost in the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

Neither the Spurs nor the Bulls were at full capacity for the game Bobby Portis, Nikola Mirotic, Kris DunnZach LaVine, and Cameron Payne didn’t play for the Bulls. For The Spurs’, Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard were both out, and Dejounte Murray and Kyle Anderson started in their place.

Chicago kept the game close through the second half, trailing by only three points, 41-38. Spurs opened up early in the second half and the Bulls never caught up, eventually losing 87-77.

Lamarcus Aldridge had a great game for the Spurs as he had 28 points on 12 of 24 shooting. He also added five offensive rebounds in 33 minutes. Rudy Gay added 12 points off the bench.

Bulls now begin their first, of what will likely be many, losing streak of the season. The season just got started, but a few problems have already begun to surface. Here are three takeaways from last night’s game.
