Nate Robinson
Although Nate Robinson only spent a single year with the Bulls back in 2012-13, the season following Derrick Rose‘s ACL tear, his heroics in the playoffs cemented him as a Bulls legend.
Most notably, Robinson dropped 23 points in the fourth quarter of Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs, a Bulls playoff record that stands second only to Jordan.
However, the 5’9″, three-time NBA dunk contest winner has been out of the NBA since the New Orleans Pelicans waived him early in the 2015-16 season. Since then, he has played in Israel and the recently-renamed G-League. Robinson also unsuccessfully tried out at cornerback for the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, reviving his football days from when he played at the University of Washington.
Robinson hasn’t given up entirely on an NBA comeback though. He famously took his campaign to Instagram this past season after LeBron James expressed frustration over the Cleveland Cavaliers’ lack of playmaking.
He currently plays in the Liga Profesional de Baloncesto, Venezuela’s marquee professional basketball league, averaging 16 points, 5.1 assists and a steal. The hashtag “FreeNateRob” still adorns many of his social media posts.
