No. 8: Bulls take down the Cavaliers on national TV
Anytime the Bulls beat a LeBron James-led team, it’s a good victory.
All five of the Bulls starters posted double digits in scoring, including Wade (24 points), Butler (26 points) and Taj Gibson (23 points), who combined to score 73 points, even though the three of them combined for only one 3-pointer. Wade even showed some flashes of the past in terms of aggression.
And it’s not like the Cavs just had a bad game. LeBron James had 27 points to go along with 13 assists and five rebounds. Kyrie Irving had 20 points and eight assists and Kevin Love had 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Cavs bench outplayed the Bulls bench by a fairly wide margin. Cleveland’s bench scored 24 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting (3-of-5 from 3-point range), while the Bulls bench only scored 13 points on an inefficient 6-of-18 shooting performance from the field, including shooting 1-of-10 from deep.
This type of game proved to Bulls fans that the starting lineup can hang with the best of them, and if the bench can improve throughout the season, then more wins like this would continue to occur.
The win brought the Bulls to a fairly satisfying 11-7. It was a great day for Bulls fans.
