Joffery Lauvergne

Joffrey Lauvergne could be a reasonably priced fifth big man up front for the Bulls.

Markkanen and Bobby Portis will soak up the majority of the minutes at the 4, but Lauvergne is a nice insurance piece to have.

There’s not likely to be a bidding war for Lauvergne’s services this offseason, making him a cheap option as injury insurance. Lauvernge could even eat up some minutes at the 5 if the Bulls decide to move on from Robin Lopez.

With his 6-foot-11 size and improving 3-point stroke, Lauvergne could act as a stretch-five if and when needed. While Lauvergne is no one’s idea of a starter, he could fill a useful role for the rebuilding Bulls.

Having a cheap contract on the books could also be used for salary matching in future deals. Besides, the Bulls need to get to the salary cap floor anyways.
