“Depreston” by Courtney Barnett

"If you’ve got a spare half a million You could knock it down and start rebuildin’"

I picked this cut on the lyric above alone (but I am a huge Courtney Barnett fan).

Factor in the confusing Jordan Bell trade, the overwhelming Dwyane Wade contract, and the formerly affordable Jimmy Butler deal. This team has made some very odd decisions with their money.

Maybe they should spend what they’re saving on Butler and turn it into… I don’t know… stock in United Airlines? Oh wait, maybe that’s not such a good one, because of the whole dragging thing earlier this year…

Anyway, leave it to an Aussie rocker to tell a bunch of Midwesterners how to feel about the future of their basketball team.

I’m still very offended by the greed that floats to the top of all of these draft day trades. This game is entirety and not-at-all about money, although it’s best to operate somewhere in the middle.

It was time to rebuild, but it doesn’t mean it feels awesome.
