The 10-song guide for getting through the Chicago Bulls’ Draft Night mess
By Willie Lutz
“Baby Blue” by Action Bronson (feat. Chance the Rapper)
"I hope there’s always snow in your driveway I hope you never get off Fridays And you work at Friday’s that’s always busy on Fridays I hope you win the lottery and lose your ticket"
Another Chicago artist gets in the mix, this time it’s Chance the Rapper joining the party. Despite many applicable lyrics by Action Bronson himself, we’ll leave it to Chance to speak to the people.
There is definitley a part of us that just REALLY wants to see GarPax fail. That was there before the trade went down, that was when the trade went down, and I’m sure it’ll be there as we watch the rebuild.
The line about the lottery ticket is particularly a point of interest and comedy. It seems to me that if the Bulls get in the Top 3, they’re going to lose-out in the lottery anyway.
Why?
It was almost too good of fortune when they found a way to win the thing in 2008 … like way too good.
Overall, the song is just a good cut to get through some of the resentment held towards Bulls’ management.
Embrace the hate.
This was actually the first song that popped into my mind following the swap. I knew that Jimmy Butler was gone, I knew the Bulls got fleeced, but I somehow decided I wasn’t giving up on the squad (at least not yet).
