“He’s Gone” by the Grateful Dead

"Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside. Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile, Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!"

When I look for answers, I usually start with the Dead. Somehow, they always know the best thing to say, regardless of the situation.

This time around, I looked to a 1973 version of “He’s Gone”, where a still young Grateful Dead tell the tale of a loved one leaving home.

Again, Bulls fans had to know that Butler was going to have to go to compete again.

Despite all the agony caused by GarPax, there will be a day once again where the Bulls compete for a trophy.

Technically, they compete every year; all 30 teams can win.

Yeah, but you get the point. This roster would’ve had a hard time competing in the next 5-6 seasons due to some obvious roster flaws. Additionally, the Dwyane Wade contract was going to harm their cap ability.

There’s a light at the end of every rebuild. Though we may not see one yet, this is an iconic franchise; it always comes back around.

In the mean time, let’s watch some young guys grow into reputable basketball players. I know I’m excited to watch Denzel Valentine, Paul Zipser, and Zach LaVine get into the mix.

Next: It's not Lauri Markkanen's fault, Bulls fans

So for now, we know what we have, so we might as well embrace the moment.
