Allen could be the center of the future for the Bulls. He’s a player that’s similar to Joakim Noah.

He flashed during the second half of the season. After struggling in the first half, he broke through with a 22-point, 19-rebound showing in Allen Fieldhouse against Kansas. He has great length with a 7-foot-6 wingspan and mobility to finish around the rim, grab rebounds and become a rim protector and low-post player. He has drawn comparisons to Nikola Jokic and Joakim Noah as a big man who can do a lot, like driving to the rack and becoming a defensive presence, but is not a shooter.

If the Bulls are to continue to go with the old-fashioned NBA style and go big, Allen would make sense. But in today’s NBA, he probably isn’t the best pick for a shooting-needy Bulls team. It depends on how GarPax approach this draft.

In the end, Allen could be the pick for the Bulls if they were to trade Robin Lopez or have him be a defender off the bench, but a wing player is more likely.
