In this edition of Chicago Bulls Blurbs, we’ll take a look at some Bulls happenings from the week that was, plus a look at the 2017 NBA Finals, where the trilogy will be completed between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.

The Chicago Bulls’ season has been done for … oh … almost a month?

Seriously? Is that right?

(Game 6 of the series between the Bulls and Boston Celtics ended on April 28, so yeah, it’s been almost a month already. Pretty crazy, yeah?)

Despite the lack of action for the Bulls in about a month, there’s still plenty to read about when it comes to the Bulls in the offseason.

In this edition of Chicago Bulls Blurbs, we’ll recap the week with some pieces you may have missed throughout the week, including a look ahead to the NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.

SB Nation‘s “Why I’m a fan” event

During a renovation of their site, our friends over at SB Nation‘s Blog a Bull participated in a promotion from the organization called, “Why I’m a fan”, which had staffers explain their stories as to why they’re a fan of a certain team. (I participated at the Chelsea Football Club site for SBN because the Blues are awesome.) It’s a really cool concept and there’s plenty of good stories to read about.

Tyler Pleiss and Vijay Vemu participated for our BaB friends and both are worth your time.

Why I’m a fan of the Chicago Bulls: It started before Doug McDermott – (@Tyler_Pleiss)

Why I’m a fan of the Chicago Bulls: The Rose/Thibs/Noah era was special – (@VJVemu)

Elena Delle Donne victorious in ‘weird’ return to Chicago – (@highkin)

Earlier this week, former WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne returned to Chicago for the first time since being traded to the Washington Mystics this offseason from the Chicago Sky. Delle Donne, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft behind Baylor’s Brittney Griner, averaged 20.5 points and 6.6 rebounds in her four seasons with the Sky. The Athletic Chicago‘s Sean Highkin followed Delle Donne through her first experience in Chicago as a visiting player.

Eight point guards the Bulls should consider in free agency – (@StephNoh)

Also from The Athletic Chicago this week was Stephen Noh’s piece on the Bulls and free agent point guards this summer. It’s not a secret that the Bulls have a point guard problem and that problem is basically, none of their guards are consistent. Noh dove into eight different options that would be an upgrade for the Bulls at the point guard position.

Bulls Q&A: Dwyane Wade’s future in Chicago, upcoming NBA draft and more – (@KCJHoop)

Chicago Tribune Bulls beat man K.C. Johnson opened up his mailbag of questions this week and answered a few questions surrounding the Bulls this summer, including some thoughts on the Bulls, Dwyane Wade and his $23.8 million player option for the 2017-18 season.

Also this week:

  • The Bulls social media team won the Sports Business Awards’ “Best in Sports Social Media” award in large part to their “Beauty and the Bull” Snapchat story production that also featured Bulls center Robin Lopez. It was awesome.

Next: Free Agency: Blake Griffin would be a huge risk, but a huge asset

The Finals are set, but you probably already knew that.

Western Conference Finals

The Warriors finished off the shorthanded Spurs in Game 4 on Monday night and advanced to the NBA Finals for the third straight season. Two-time league MVP Stephen Curry led the Warriors with a game-high 36 points on 14-of-24 shooting, while 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant chipped in 29 points on just 13 shot attempts.

Our friends at Blue Man Hoop discussed interim Warriors head coach Mike Brown’s comments after Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue said it was more difficult to gameplan for the Celtics rather than the Warriors. OK then, Ty.

Eastern Conference Finals

LeBron James passed Michael Jordan and became the all-time leading scorer in NBA postseason history, as the Cleveland Cavaliers also advanced to the NBA Finals this week for the third straight season. James poured in 35 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists in the 135-102 beatdown of the Boston Celtics.

King James Gospel, the FanSided blog of the Cleveland Cavaliers, spoke on the debate that’s sweeping the NBA community by the day: Michael Jordan or LeBron James? James gave his own thoughts on the topic, along with some analysis from our Cavs friends.
