Nikola Mirotic has our hearts on a string

Mirotic is not here to play games. He’s here to break the hearts of Chicago Bulls fans and whoever the Bulls are playing.

Since being listed as inactive against the Boston Celtics on March 12, Mirotic has scored double digit points in six of eight games, and scored 20+ three times. It’s another late season surge for Mirotic, who appears to be putting it all together just as the season ends for the third straight year.

Against Milwaukee, Mirotic started hot and never cooled down. He finished the first quarter with nine points and looked comfortable driving to the basket off closeouts.

That’s a silky finish and one that had me out of my seat. If Niko can continue to make plays like that, he’s going to be a serious problem to deal with.

Most of his points came around the basket in the first half, but in the second half the Threeekolaaaaas started splashing through the nets. Mirotic drilled four 3s in the second half, part of his season high six made 3s.

Mirotic tied his season-high with 28 points on an efficient 11 of 14 mark from the field.

On Sunday, Niko was integral to the Bulls success. The only reason I’m kind of hoping Chicago makes the playoffs is because I want to see if he can play this well in a seven game series. Please don’t go breaking my heart, Niko.
