Dwyane Wade must play better

I’m sure Dwyane Wade‘s stint with the Bulls has been nothing like he thought it would be, between an inept front office, poor coaching and lacking talent surrounding him.

His leadership has been questionable at times, and almost laughable at others. Before the Charlotte game, he gave a pregame speech that ended with player’s saying their favorite card game.

Now maybe that’s what gets the people going, but I have a hard time believing chanting the name of various card games stokes the competitive fire. Maybe that’s just me.

However, it would help a lot if Wade was actually contributing on the court. During the five games he’s played in March, Wade’s struggles have reached a new level.

Despite being a ‘leader’, Wade is still routinely falling asleep on defense.

Chicago’s defensive rating has been an abysmal 109.5 with him on the court, which would rank 28th out of 30 teams in the NBA.

Maybe he’s still productive on the offensive end? Nope.

The team has an offensive rating of 86 (!!!) when he’s playing in March. That would by far rank as the worst in the NBA this season and hurts to even think about. The turnaround jumpers that were once automatic fall less frequently. His 3-point shooting has been especially bad during this stretch, about 14 percent on nearly three attempts a game.

Wade needs to right the ship because the Bulls are going to need him for a playoff push.
