The Chicago Bulls host the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night in a matchup of two teams with fluctuating starting lineups. Can the Bulls make it back-to-back wins?
Both the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies are looking for back-to-back wins after five-game losing streaks on Wednesday night. The Grizzlies are officially without Chandler Parsons indefinitely, who has mostly been awful in the time he’s seen the floor this year.
Here’s a fun game: take a guess at what the starting lineup will look like for each time.
Memphis has used a different starting lineup in each of its last five games, and Fred Hoiberg‘s revolving door of starting point guards continues to perplex.
Rajon Rondo‘s return to the starting lineup on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets was hilarious for so many reasons. Let’s start with Rondo himself laughed at the idea of being able to start again when he was benched.
It also marked the return of the “Three Alphas” starting lineup, a doomed experiment that was mercifully nixed earlier in the season. There’s just no spacing, and often the Bulls offense will struggle to find a rhythm when the Alphas share the court.
That certainly wasn’t the case on Monday when Chicago scored 36 points in the first quarter, with Rondo and Jimmy Butler combining for 19.
What will happen Wednesday?
