The three bigs for the Bulls must continue their stellar play

Taj Gibson, Robin Lopez and Cristiano Felicio just get it done inside. The Bulls will need all three guys to play well against the Celtics.

Al Horford is one of the NBA’s best power forwards, but Gibson might be the league’s biggest unsung hero. Gibson will relish the challenge of going against Horford. The Bulls big man is averaging 11.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and nearly a block a game this season. But more than anything, Gibson gives the Bulls his all every night. He is one of the best teammates in the NBA and maybe the league’s most unselfish player.

Gibson’s recent quotes are flat-out amazing.

Look for Gibson to have a big night ahead of some much-needed time away from the court.

Lopez has been a rock all year for the Bulls. The man that replaced many Bulls fans’ favorite player and the heart of the Bulls, Joakim Noah, has been nothing short of great. Not great in the sense of dominance, or flash. Just great.

Lopez has started all 56 games for the Bulls this season and has been a rock defensively. He also his great skill and footwork in the post, which leads to easy baskets. Lopez’s soft touch from the elbows has been amazing. The center is averaging 9.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. Look for Lopez to go at the smaller Amir Johnson and the softer Kelly Olynyk.

Felicio is the future of the Bulls bigs. The Brazilian’s numbers don’t wow just yet, but that is mostly because he doesn’t play very many minutes. He is averaging just over 15 minutes a night.

Felicio runs the floor. He finishes at the rim with power, and he moves well without the ball. This should be on full display tonight at home against a Celtics team with a less athletic front court.
