The Chicago Bulls moved to 3-2 in the preseason with a win in Milwaukee against the Bucks on Saturday night.

On a night where the Chicago Cubs were playing important playoff baseball games, the Chicago Bulls quietly snuck off to Wisconsin for a few quarters of backup basketball. The Bucks put a few starters in the mix, and the Bulls did not.

Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, Taj Gibson, and Jimmy Butler were all out on rest. Of that quartet, only Rondo made the trip to Milwaukee for the game.

The Bucks started strong, but as their primary minutes players like Matthew Dellavedova and Jabari Parker gave way to their bench players, Chicago pushed for a comeback. In fact, had the Bulls not put up a whopper of a four quarter, outscoring Milwaukee 37-7, this game would have ended in a much different way.

Still, the Bulls pulled out the win and moved to above .500 for the first time this preseason. As the Bulls rest more and more of their starters, we are starting to see just how the Chicago bench is going to shape up. With only two preseason games left, the regular season rotation is starting to take shape.

Let’s take a look at the big takeaways from the performances of the bench players who got a chance to shine last night.
