Most Improved Player
After sending Derrick Rose packing last summer, the Chicago Bulls acquired three players in a multiplayer deal and that package included Jerian Grant. It’s too soon to tell what the team is getting when they look to foster the talent of the second-year guard. Many analysts had Grant pegged as a likely candidate to send to the Bulls’ new D-League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. That said, the remainder of the preseason schedule brings heightened meaning for the young guard. The Bulls depth chart at point guard runs deep with names on the roster like Rondo, Isaiah Canaan and Spencer Dinwiddie.
None of this posed a concern to Grant Friday.
He logged 10 points and two assists in 12 minutes. Two of Grants shots came from deep and solidified both he and his team’s confidence in his ability to close the game; the Bulls won.
The Bulls next compete Monday when they gear up to play the Milwaukee Bucks in their preseason closer. Tipoff will get underway just after 7 p.m. CST.
