The month of November is going to be a crazy ride for Bulls fans. The NBA squad is going to be at full throttle, just far enough into the season to have a good idea of what the starting lineup is going to look like, but not far enough to get a good feel of exactly what kind of potential the team has for success. After just a few weeks of the big boys running, the little brother known as Windy City will be cranking into gear at the Sears Center in Chicago.

The big must see game for the month of November is going to be the very first game of the year. On Friday, November 11, Windy City will play their very first game. The game isn’t just their first and the first of the season, it is also going to be a home game in Chicago.

This is peak NBA scheduling wizardry. The opener is a home game. Did you know that this is a good idea? The Windy City squad is a new team. Even in 2016, when basketball is an extremely popular sport and Chicago is one of the great basketball cities in the world, it isn’t easy to draw fans to a newly-formed D-League team’s first game. Giving them home court gets Windy City off on the right foot.

It’s on Friday. There is hardly a better day of the week to have a showcase of aspiring athletes on the cusp of realizing their dream of playing in the NBA, at the United Center, for the Chicago Bulls. Most people don’t have to get up all that early on a Saturday and will be looking for some fun evening activities anyway. Sure, some people might say that a Saturday game or a Sunday day game would be nice, but there’s another reason for why this Friday is perfect.

The Chicago Bulls have an away game on November 10 and a home game on November 12. The Windy City opener falls right between the two. It’s a Friday, a home game, a season opener, and it fills the gap for the die-hard Chicago fan that can’t go a day without the Bulls.
