Captain Boomerang (or just Boomerang as he’ll be known in the film) is a deadly assassin who uses customized boomerangs (because of course, right?) to take down his targets.

    Why not one of the rookies?

    Denzel Valentine has already proven to be quite the assassin. (Just watch the end of the Las Vegas Summer League title game and see the stones the rookie has.)

    He became the only college basketball player since assists became an official stat to averaged 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game last season, according to DraftExpress’s internal database. He’s not exactly a deadshot by any means (more on that guy in a little bit), but his numbers from his senior season at Michigan State tell a pretty good story.

    One of Boomerang’s abilities is to create boomerangs out of pure energy. In the Bulls’ second unit, they’ll need all the energy they can get from their youth, so this role fits Valentine fairly well. Throwing boomerangs in transition will likely be one of the key aspects for Valentine in his first NBA season.
