23. Jordan Scores 55 at Madison Square Garden
This was one of Jordan’s only iconic performances in the No. 45. He and the Bulls went on to lose to the Orlando Magic in the playoffs this season, but it appears like the NBA and ESPN have destroyed all tape of that ever happening. Just kidding, but also not really.
Jordan was understandably a little bit less coordinated in his basketball skills after playing baseball for over a year, but he eventually found his rhythm back on the court. This was on display with his 55 points at Madison Square Garden only 10 days after he had reversed course on his retirement and decided to play his best sport again.
An interesting pipedream is what would’ve happened if MLB hadn’t gone on strike while Jordan was trying to make a team. Would he be known as an excellent basketball player who then went on to mediocre professional baseball career instead of the G.O.A.T.?
