2. “The Shot”: Part I and II

In terms of most memorable shots in NBA history, “The Shot” is fairly high on that list. In terms of Michael Jordan’s career, it’s probably the most memorable shot of his career … and he had a ton of those.

With the series on the line in Game 5 of the 1989 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, the Chicago Bulls had one final chance to seal the series on the road after Craig Ehlo gave Cleveland a 100-99 lead with just a few seconds left.

Who else was going to hit the final shot over Ehlo to clinch the series?

The Bulls led Cleveland 3-0 in their best-of-seven series in the 1993 postseason.

The game was tied 101 with 18.7 seconds left.

The Bulls had the ball.

Michael Jordan sent another dagger into Cleveland’s hearts.

The end.

Jordan’s game-winner clinched another series over Cleveland four years after “The Shot”. The Bulls would go on to beat New York in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals, then would beat Phoenix in six games to win their third title in a row.

Cleveland sports still can’t catch a break to this day.
