Subject: Nikola Mirotic
Optimist:
- Mirotic had an incredible rookie season. His numbers were good, but would have actually been a lot better if Tom Thibodeau would have played him more.
- He also played for Spain and helped them win the EuroBasket championship. Winning at that level will only help him for what’s coming ahead this season.
- Mirotic is a custom fit for Fred Hoiberg’s offense.
- He can stretch the floor, handle the ball, and post up.
- Look out for Nikola Mirotic to put up stellar numbers this season.
Pessimist:
- Gasol and Noah looked awful together last season, but Nikola Mirotic’s defense is as bad as Gasol’s. If they start together, the Bulls won’t be able to stop anyone.
- He made some long distance shots last year, but his three-point percentage was modest at best.
- He isn’t strong enough to guard post players and he is also not fast enough to guard a lot of wings.
- It would be best for him to come off the bench until he learns the league a little better.
