5. Butler scores 30 in loss to Detroit
It was a poor February loss for a Bulls team that had won their previous four games coming into a Feb. 20 meeting with the Detroit Pistons.
Derrick Rose was uninterested, missing seven of his nine shot attempts. Pau Gasol and Mike Dunleavy shot a combined 4-of-15 from the floor, and a 32-point third quarter sealed the Bulls’ fate against the young Pistons.
But, Jimmy Butler was stellar in his (almost) 39 minutes of action. Butler scored 30 points on 9-of-18 shooting (including 3-of-5 from long range), pulled down five rebounds and dished out five assists in the 100-91 loss. Butler also hit all nine of his free throw attempts.
(If you play fantasy sports on DraftKings, Butler’s performance would’ve gotten you roughly 44 points for his performance. That’s not bad.)
