With the 22nd pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select: Rashad Vaughn, University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Pippen Ain’t Easy Staff Writer Fuad Ahad (@fuadahad):

With the Thibodeau-to-Hoiberg transition getting ready to officially happen at the start of the 2015-16 season, the Bulls will likely look to improve from within rather than search for help in free agency or through the draft. An option this Thursday could be to trade the 22nd pick, but for who? Trading up into the lottery, similar to last year’s draft, won’t be as easy and will take a more drastic move like something including Noah or Gibson.

With a new system, a potentially healthier team, and the probable development of guys like McDermott, Mirotic, and Snell, the Bulls should look towards the future in this draft.

An intriguing pick is UNLV’s Rashad Vaughn. He’s a 6’5″ guard who can score with the best and is said to have the type of shot that easily translates into the NBA. He has the ability to evolve into a combo guard and handle the ball as the point guard at times but his biggest attribute would be his ability to spot-up and hit shots off of passes from Rose, Noah or Butler.

He’s only 18 years old and has reportedly had some issues at UNLV, but a team like the Bulls would be the perfect situation. It’s a team full of veteran leaders who could be the right influence for a young talent like Vaughn and could help him reach the obvious potential that he has.
