In 1985, the NBA went to a 2-3-2 format in the NBA Finals, and the Bulls came into the 1993 Finals as the lower-seeded team against the Phoenix Suns.

The Bulls paid the home-court disadvantage no matter, and won not just one, but both games in Phoenix to take a 2-0 series lead in the best-of-seven series over the Suns.

In Game 1, the Bulls defeated Phoenix, 100-92, behind 58 combined points for Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, along with 16 key points from starting point guard B.J. Armstrong.

After getting the early advantage in Game 1, the Bulls stole Game 2 when Pippen snuffed out a final three-point attempt from Suns guard Danny Ainge and took Game 2, 111-108. Pippen dropped a 15-point, 12-rebound, 12-assist triple-double, while Jordan scored 42, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out nine assists in the win.
