They did it.

They finally did it.

After vanquishing their nemesis, the Detroit Pistons, in the 1991 Eastern Conference finals, the Bulls finally reached the big stage of the NBA Finals, and didn’t let their first opportunity at a title go to waste.

The Bulls were fortunate in Game 5, as Lakers starters James Worthy and Byron Scott each missed the game due to injuries, but it was simply the Bulls’ night.

Jordan and Pippen each played all 48 minutes and scored 62 combined points, while Paxson chipped in 20 huge points in a 108-101 Bulls win.

Nobody had an idea that the Bulls would be become what they would eventually become, but the beginning of the dynasty occurred in 1991, and not even the great Earvin “Magic” Johnson (or anyone else) could stop the inevitable.
